携程网(Ctrip)住店用户 M***6 2017-01-31I checked in on 28th January 2017 at the Fairmont Beijing Hotel and will leave the hotel on 31st January. I booked this hotel through Ctrip (a travel App in China). During these dates, I was given a reimbursement of RMB150 for three nights stay from your hotel to offset my room charges.
When I checked in on the 28th, the front desk collected full charges of RMB2610 from me and RMB of 1000 as deposit.
Today (30th Jan), I went through my hotel booking at Ctrip App, and I only realized that there is reimbursement of RMB150, and my total room charges should be RMB2460. But when I checked in on the 28th, the front desk did not offset the amount of RMB150 which I never realized. So I went to the front desk few hours ago to ask about the reimbursement, she told me that since I have already made full payment for the room charges of RMB2610, I can consume at their restaurants or lounge to offset the RMB150. I told her "sure".
After my lunch, I came back to the hotel and decided to have an Afternoon tea at the lobby lounge, the waitress and the waiter were not very friendly and not professional, I asked the waitress for brand of the black tea, she said not sure, the waiter beside just moved his shoulder up and down telling me he is not sure as well.
Below is my unhappiness, disappointment and feedback for such incident that I have encountered at Fairmont Beijing:
1. What if I never realized that there was a reimbursement? So the hotel will act blur and never inform their customers? Is this the way of Fairmont group of hotels treat their customers?
2. The first of during my stay, I realized the water heater inside the shower room has got some technical issues, when I showered half way, it suddenly flow out cold water, I have to readjust for a few times, this makes me very inconvenient and uncomfortable. When I feedback this to the duty manager Bill and the Customer Service Manager, they did not handle my feedback well and only told "sorry to hear that ..."
3. The duty Manager told me they will refund the RMB150 to my card, but it will takes about 30 days because of accounting procedures. First of all, the RMB150 supposedly been offset when I was making full payment at the front desk when I was checking in. In the end, I was asked to consume at the hotel's F&B outlets in order to offset the RMB150, this is ridiculous! The front desk staff should have the knowledge of what kind of promotions the hotel are offering to their guests and collaborations with each of their travel partners, in order not to create any dispute. I felt cheated even if it is a RMB1 issue! Cuz this can't happen to a luxury hotel like Fairmont.
I felt really disappointed of the ways the staff at Fairmont Beijing handling their guest!
I hope the management staff will look into the issues that might be happening daily at Fairmont Beijing, similarly to my case or maybe not.
